The Berlin Campus of the German University in Cairo-GUC, faculty of Media Engineering and Technology is seeking top candidates for full-time and half time Professor / Associate Professors / Assistant Professor Positions in the field of:
We seek candidates who have a record of excellent teaching, experience and demonstrated commitment to excellent pedagogical practices, and strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as evidenced by the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application including a strong statement of teaching philosophy, as well as strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.
- PhD degree in informatics (with focus on HCI)
- Minimum one year teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of HCI-related topics such as interaction techniques, experimental design, visualization techniques, etc.)
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Strong research profile
The approved candidate will establish and lead research group in the area of HCI and actively promote graduate and undergraduate research at GUC Berlin. The professor is expected to play a leading role in the newly formed research group "Robotics and Autonomous Systems". In this group, the professor will be responsible for developing humanoid interaction techniques for robotic systems. In addition to participating in this group, the professor shall endeavour in researching any chosen areas of HCI.
The professor shall also support teaching activities at GUC, teaching courses such as Artificial Intelligence, Web Design and Usability, Software Engineering, HCI (elective), etc.
